My commentary on the opening of Duplicate.

video
The rough cut of Group 6's thriller opening

Brief commentary

0:00 - 0:07 - I think this high angle shot is very good and establishes where the scene is set
0:08 - 0:11 - A wide angle shot , again helping establish the setting
0:16 - 0:18 - This is the first use of a match cut
0:19 - 0:25 - A tracking shot which follows the lead from her room to the bathroom
0:26 - 0:27 - The second use of a match cut
0:28 - 0:42  - The main character enters, ties up her hair
0:43 - 0:45 - Match cut of character picking up the wig
0:46 - 1:07 - Fixes wig and walks back into room
1:08 - 1:11 - Main title appears on screen - DUPLICATE
1:12 - 1:20 - character leaves room and starts to walk down stairs
1:21 - 1:27 - Low angle shot of character walking down stairs , this shot allows the
audience to know that the character seems to have an superior status.
1:28 - 1:33 - wide shot of character walking into kitchen
1:34 - 1:36 - Here is an editing mistake - the titles were supposed to go over the video,                      by accident they do not
1:37 - 1:41 - Another tracking shot of character walking up to the counter.
1:42 - 2:09 - Match cuts of the breakfast being made
2:10 - 2:22 - Camera follows character out of the room , down the hallway and into the front                     room
2:23 - 2:26 - This is where we get the first shot of the dead body on the floor - the quick shot
                   shocks the audience
2:27 - 2:29 - Match cut of cup being put down on table - This helps with the continuity of the
                   thriller opening
2:30 - 2: 45 - The ring is taken from the dead body - This is where our larger plot comes into
play as it is the second part to her stealing her identity. It also reinforces that
                    in the audiences mind.
2:46 - 2:47 - Close up of the dead bodys face
2:48 - 2:53 - POV from the dead body of the killer walking out
