Introduction to editing skills

During the tutorial of editing we learnt useful things that will help our group in the future with real film we learnt: The difference between the viewer an canvas windows How to add transitions, such as dissolve however we were told not to use the dissolve too much as it is too common. How to cut certain scenes by using the I and O buttons (which stand for input and output), this helped us to get the correct shots in the timeline.

The screen in the upper right is the Canvas, which will display whatever clip or frame is selected in the Timeline below. It also will play a clip in the Timeline, or an entire sequence of clips in the Timeline. Just to the right of the Browser is the Viewer, where you can display and play individual video clips you select in the Browser.
